'TIles are now being used for way more applications than they were in the past - not just wet areas or living are floors' says Tina Di Lorenzo
'Back in the 70's, tiles were bright and decorative, then afterwards came a shift to minimalism. Now, mainly courtesy of advances in technology, and flowing on from clothing and furniture trends, tiles have evolved to become part of home furnishings, rather than a finishing product,' Tina explains.
Glamorous textures and glazes are permitting tiles to make a statement in their own right (1). Leading the way are gold and sparkly numbers, silver and metallic styles, embosses, high-gloss (3) and delicate versions, as well as pearlescent mosaics.
'While taupes and greys still have their place, we're seeing them introduced more through feature walls (2) to add a subtle touch of glamour to the bathroom,' says Tina.
